Non-Objective Expression of Unity:

“As seen through god’s eyes” By Linda Monofort is a non-objective expression of unity. The variety of colors and brush strokes gives it variety and interest. The continuation of the brush strokes into one another and the mixing of the colors create unity as well. There is no object or image represented here, the artwork speaks for itself. It simply works as a non-objective expression of unity.

Proximity~

www.proximity.nl/This image uses proximity as a unifying factor. Placing the circles close to each other is a way to display them as a whole and not as individual points of interest. Going a step further, by placing a different logo in each circle makes them appear to be related. If you look at each one individually, and not as a whole, you will see that there is no connection between them at all.

Week Two * Unity: Repetition (Emphasis on Similarity)

INNU, Salon

http://www.innu.net/

This image uses repetition to lead the viewer’s eyes to the INNU text which is the focal point of the piece. The caterpillars and butterflies are repeated in the image and our eyes naturally follow them.

Week One Assignment

Week One ~ Post my Ideal in 2~Dimensional Design:

1) My first choice is a design for print by Tiffany & Co. Tiffany's Advertising is always visually pleasing. Their signature color (Aqua-ish) is always used. The look of the piece is always simple and elegant. The text is always small and positioned in a way so that it does no overpower the image. The Tiffany & Co. Logo is always recognizable and elegant. These designs are simple, beautiful, minimal, and you can always tell you are looking at a piece for Tiffany's.
